A small universe of things I've built.

I'm Allen. I build rockets, robots, and software, including a bot that takes the card game Canadian Fish far too seriously.

Every solar system here is something I care about, and every planet is a project. In the universe version of this site you fly a small rocket between them: W A S D or the arrow keys, Shift to boost, or a thumb on a phone. Come close to a planet and it offers you an orbit; take it and the planet's page opens, fly away and you are back in open sky. In a hurry? The menu above gets you anywhere without flying at all.

    Bots for Canadian Fish, a six-player card game of hidden information, and the simulation lab that measures whether they are any good.

  • Canadian Fish

    Play the six-player card game Literature in the browser, with live rooms, bots that deduce instead of guess, and practice drills.

    • Fish Onboarding Learn the card game Literature in about four minutes, in a scripted teaching game where you have to make the key moves yourself.
    • Fish Online Planned: a website for playing Canadian Fish online, the step after the demo. Nothing is built yet.

  • Days2Meet

    A group availability poll in the spirit of When2meet, plus a dates-only mode for the plans where hours are meaningless.
